African Pearls Bracelets are made from seeds found in the Kigoma, Tanzania region. The women who make the bracelets are able to collect the seeds where they live and create this beautiful jewelry by piercing the seeds with hot needles and stringing the seeds on a metal wire that wraps around the wrist.
The bracelets are a product of the vocational training center at Hope of the Nations, where women who are vulnerable to abuse and exploitation can receive vocational training along with discipleship and Bible studies, often facilitated by the students and graduates of Hope's Bible College.
By learning basic trades like sewing and jewelry making, the students of the vocational training center are able to feed and support their families and provide schooling for their children.
Tentmakers Together purchases bracelets directly from the artisans, providing economic opportunities in one of the poorest and most remote regions of Tanzania.
